DJ Sets
Patsy Skeet, the Psychedelic Disco Punk Queen, is a multidisciplinary artist and performer based in Tāmaki Makaurau. She studied BA (Hons) in Costume for Performance at London College of Fashion, developing her expertise in costume design and performance. Her diverse career includes working with artists such as Rita Ora, Opera Australia, and Anna Coddington, as well as creating large-scale colorful murals, fine art paintings, and immersive interactive art experiences inspired by icons like David Bowie.
Her performance art repertoire features shows such as The Patsy Skeet Experience, Church of Bowie, and Rave to the Grave, where she pioneers vibrant, colorful performance art in New Zealand. She has successfully brought these immersive experiences to wide audiences through music festival DJ sets, surfing a wave of stardust left by Ziggy himself.
Inspired by icons like David Bowie and Siouxsie Sioux, she blends fashion, art, music, and entertainment into unforgettable journeys through sight and sound. Her sets, a wild mix of thunderous UK basslines, synth-led techno, funky breaks, deep house, italo and post disco, evoke a spectrum of emotions—from joy to introspection.
A fierce advocate for diversity and inclusion, Patsy collaborates with femme and LGBTQIA+ artists to create immersive atmospheres. Based in Tāmaki Makaurau, her vision is a world where artists enjoy fair pay and better living conditions. She aims to bring joy and color through her performances and costumes, with plans to tour "The Patsy Skeet Experience" and release more original music.
As a music producer, she spins thematic sounds that narrate her sets. Her debut EP produced alongside Miss B "Cosmik Diskotek," releasing under Sqeaky Wheels in 2024, tells the story of a spaceship dance party where an all-male alien band gets booted off the ship one by one. Patsy and DJ Miss B are also working on more music to be released later this year.
Patsy’s love for electronic music blossomed in her teens during the rise of dubstep, leading her to underground parties in Brighton and London and fueling her desire to DJ. Recognizing the lack of female representation in 2020 spurred her to step into the spotlight, where she now pioneers immersive experiences through collaboration and multidisciplinary performances.
Since arriving on the scene in 2020, Patsy has grown a devoted following and become a favorite at underground festivals like Splore, Aum New Years Festival, Shipwrecked Music and Arts and Kiwiburn. She regularly collaborates with performance artists showcasing circus, burlesque, and dance to create original concepts and costumes for each festival. A regular DJ at club nights across the country, and on Auckland’s famous K Road and Ponsonby, Patsy will take you on a wild ride, so buckle up your horses and get ready to dive deep into the experience of Patsy Skeet.
